Making ideas accessible across languages
I subtitle TED Talks in Gujarati and Hindi so ideas can reach people in the languages they think in. As a native Gujarati speaker, this is personal: a talk that changes how someone thinks should not require English first.
I have translated and reviewed more than 80 talks and serve as a Language Supervisor for the community. I was selected for TED2020 with travel and stay arranged by TED, and then the conference moved online; I never walked into that room, and it is still on my list. These days I am building an AI-assisted translation workflow with my own review as the final human step.
